8 - Les grandes orgues
En vous dirigeant vers la sortie, levez les yeux vers les grandes orgues de La Trinité. Installées en 1659, les premières orgues subissent l'ire des révolutionnaires. L'église est donc dépourvue de son instrument pendant tout le XIXe siècle. Durant cette période, de nombreuses tentatives infructueuses ont été menées afin d'acquérir un instrument qui soit digne du principal édifice religieux d'une ville aussi importante. Les orgues actuelles, bénies et inaugurées en 1903, ont été commandées à la maison Cavaillé-Coll de Paris elles comportent 33 jeux complets répartis sur trois claviers manuels de 56 notes chacun et un pédalier de 30 notes.
As you head toward the exit, look up at the great organ of La Trinité. Installed in 1659, the first organs suffered the wrath of the revolutionaries. The church was therefore without its instrument for the entire 19th century. During this period, many unsuccessful attempts were made to acquire an instrument worthy of the main religious building of such an important city. The current organ, blessed and inaugurated in 1903, was commissioned from the Cavaillé-Coll firm of Paris. It features 33 full stops spread over three manuals of 56 notes each and a 30-note pedalboard.
